NON-GOVERNMENTAL RELIEF AGENCIES

OTHER RESOURCE ORGANIZATIONS

UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATIONS

Selecting the right partner organizations is a crucial part of effective disaster response. The following is a directory of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), logistics support specialists, and United Nations agencies. This list includes information on competencies, size, geographic reach, religious affiliation (if any), and contacts, and identifies which of the four stages of disaster response (prepare; respond; recover; rebuild) or other areas the agency works in.

This directory is designed to help you select beneficiary organizations that operate efficiently and support your disaster response objectives. Each NGO entry includes a 4-star rating and an overall score on a scale from 0 to 70. These ratings were derived from Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator that rates U.S.-based, tax-exempt organizations in seven different categories of financial efficiency and organizational capacity. For more information on this system, go to www.charitynavigator.org
